Confederation of African Football has approved Cape Coast stadium as a home venue for Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko for their CAF Intet-club competitions.
The continents football governing body has notified Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak that they are unable to honour their respective African campaign matches at their traditional home grounds due to the inability of the Ghana Football Association to submit report on the inspections done by the association on these venues.
This means that the two Ghanaian heavyweights cannot use the Baba Yara Sports stadium and Accra Sports stadium respectively.
The draw for the CAF inter club competitions was held on Tuesday in Egypt, where Kotoko will face off with Kadiogo for a place in the first round in the Champions League prelims next month.
The Ghanaian champions will play either AS Vita Club or Gaborone FC in the next round if they eliminate the Burkinabe side.
MTN FA Cup holders Hearts of Oak will lock horns with the winner of the match between AS Douanes of Burkina Faso and Mali’s AS Bamako in the Confederation Cup.
The second preliminary round of the Confederation Cup is slated for October 2022.
