Colon de Santa Fe to Heap More Misery on Lanús in Argentina as Their Torrid Form Continues

Club Atlético Colón will be aiming to keep up their positive form as we keep going in the second phase of the Argentine Primera Division, with them overturning a poor run of form to now sit comfortably in the second phase and in the last 32 of the Copa Argentina.

They face off against a Lanus side in completely contrasting form, with them now winless in many weeks but in a fantastic position within the Copa Sudamericana.

It’s been four games since Lanus tasted victory in Argentina, as they beat Estudiantes La Plata 1-0 away from home. They met with Racing Club soon after and lost in a 2-1 match back in the Campeonato de Futbol Femenino.

The second phase of the Argentine Primera División then began, and they have so far failed to win a single game of the three so far, drawing to both Rosario Central and Defensa y Justicia, before a defeat to Atletico Tucuman to put them way down in 25 of the 28 spots in the second phase of the competition.

Given how it’s still the early days of this side of the tournament, Lanus could rock themselves way up into ninth with a win and other results going in their favour, but this in itself is asking for a lot.

On the other hand, things didn’t go that smoothly in the first phase of the competition either, as they won only three of their 14 games with 17 goals scored and 18 conceded.

They do remain in an excellent position in the Copa Sudamericana, with them top of Group A with 11 points putting them into the knockout stages with relative ease.

As for Colon, they ended their first phase of the Argentine Primera Division with only three wins from 14 games, and they now sit with a fairly positive record of five points from three games in the second phase.

What’s more, they also have had a fantastic run on the continental stage too, with them finishing with 10 points from their six Copa Libertadores group stage matches.

Better yet, they are coming off the back of beating the giants River Plate last time out, thanks to a goal from Ramon Abila late on that sealed all three points.

Colon are now expected to get another three points on the road here, with the form of Lanus too poor right now on the domestic front.

Forebet predicts the game to see under 2.5 goals and for Colon to get the victory.Forebet predicts the game to see under 2.5 goals and for Colon to get the victory.
