It’s one of the most important games of the season for both Burgos and Eibar this Thursday afternoon as the two sides meet inside the top six with an eye on a push towards La Liga this season with the two set to meet at the Estadio Municipal El Plantio.

As of now, only four places in the league separate the two with Eibar moving down into sixth after a recent winless run.

On the other hand, the club managed to beat Huesca in the last round of fixtures on home soil, as Ruben Pulido’s own goal won it for Eibar in the dying seconds of the game.

Eibar also scored their first goal from the penalty spot in the 86th minute, in what was a struggle for them to get all three points that day.

The club did lose to Cartagena just prior to this, however, which sent shockwaves across the fanbase in regards to their promotion attempts.

A 0-0 draw with the league leaders, Deportivo Alaves, and a 1-1 draw with third-placed Las Palmas, however, does read well for them heading into this game, as they are yet to lose to a side higher than them in the table so far in the 2022/23 Segunda Division season.

Eibar also managed to beat Las Rozas with ease three weeks ago in the Copa del Rey first round.

With them also sitting only four points behind second-placed Burgos in the league table, this could end up being their biggest game of the season to date, as they sit sixth and within touching distance of those around them.

As for Burgos, they are into second now after the recent dropped points from Las Palmas, while they managed to edge past Ponferradina in the last outing.

The club also has the best defensive record in the league so far with seven goals let in from 18 games, and no side comes close to this in Spain right now, besides Barcelona in La Liga.

As both sides are set to fight for a place in the playoffs at least this season, it’s become one of the biggest games of the campaign for both Burgos and Eibar. The goals difference records are looking similar too, and it makes this game a tough one to predict.

However, Forebet predicts a draw here and for the game to see under 2.5 goals with second and sixth set to clash in the Segunda Division.
