The last-minute winner netted by Bruno Guimaraes in Newcastle United’s meeting with Leicester City on Sunday has seen the Brazilian etch his name firmly into the club’s history books.
Eddie Howe’s men, of course, were back in action a short time ago.
After returning to winning ways courtesy of a 1-0 downing of Wolves last time out, the Magpies, this time round, welcomed the aforementioned Leicester to St. James’ Park, hoping to make it two wins on the bounce.
And, when all was said and done, this is precisely what they managed.
It was actually visitors Leicester who opened the day’s scoring inside twenty minutes, when a training ground set-piece routine culminated in Ademola Lookman lashing home from close range.

Newcastle, though, levelled things up with half an hour on the clock when Bruno Guimaraes bundled home at the 2nd time of asking, before the January arrival on Tyneside sparked jubilant celebrations across St. James’ courtesy of what proved to be the winner a full five minutes into injury time:

As per the reliable Opta, Guimaraes’ clincher, at 94 minutes and 10 seconds, marked Newcastle’s latest winning goal in a Premier League fixture since such records were first accounted for all the way back in 2006.
