Brighton & Hove Albion’s rising star Michelle Agyemang has been named in England’s final 23-player squad for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, effectively ending any hopes of her representing Ghana at the senior international level.
The 19-year-old forward, who has been on the radar of Ghana’s football authorities, has now officially committed to the Lionesses ; a decision that rules her out of any future switch to the Black Queens under current FIFA eligibility rules.
Agyemang, who developed through Arsenal’s academy before joining Brighton, was widely expected to make Serena Wiegman’s squad for the title defense in Switzerland.
Her versatility and youthful energy are seen as key assets, especially in the latter stages of games.
Ghana had been monitoring her progress with interest, hoping to persuade the talented striker to pledge her allegiance to the West African nation.
However, her competitive inclusion for England seals her international future and confirms her commitment to the European champions.
England is drawn in Group D alongside France, Wales, and the Netherlands for the tournament, which kicks off on July 2, 2025. Agyemang will now look to make her mark on the European stage ; but not in Black Queens colors.
