The Premier League will present an M23 Derby on Wednesday night, as Brighton host Crystal Palace at the Amex Stadium. The Seagulls are seventh in the league and just three points behind sixth-place Liverpool.

Brighton have two games in hand and have an edge over Liverpool in the race for the top six. The Seagulls’ form has been up and down of late, with plenty of draws taking place.

Crystal Palace continue to move down the standings toward the relegation zone. The Eagles failed to score in their last three matches in the Premier League.

Manager Patrick Vieira is struggling to get the most from the squad and pressure is mounting over whether he is right for the job.

Palace are 12th in the league and just three points off the bottom three. Crystal Palace have sleepwalked into a relegation fight. The Eagles could go down this season.

The last three Premier League matches between Brighton and Crystal Palace finished as 1-1 draws. Four of the last five matches between the clubs ended in 1-1 draws.

There is a strong chance Wednesday’s match at the Amex could also end 1-1. The 1-1 draw is the second-most common scoreline in the Premier League this season. The league saw 10.73% of its opening 261 matches end 1-1.

Brighton took nine points from the last six games in the league, scoring 10 goals and conceding six times. The Seagulls’ home record is 6W-2D-4L and +10 in goals.

Palace are at the bottom of the current Premier League form table. Just three points were taken from the last six matches, and all three points were from draws.

Palace scored a mere three times across the last six games, but they failed to score in each of their last three matches.

Vieira will be without Sam Johnstone and Cheick Doucoure. The former is injured, and the latter is suspended. Will Hughes could miss the match due to an illness. Nathan Ferguson could miss the game as well due to a lack of fitness.

Roberto De Zerbi will be without Jakub Moder following a knee injury. Adam Lallana is ruled out with a thigh injury. Adam Webster, Billy Gilmour, and Tariq Lamptey are all major doubts to play.

Four of the last five matches between Brighton and Crystal Palace finished 1-1. Wednesday’s midweek fixture should also end 1-1 with neither team able to get the upper hand.
