The new manager of Brighton & Hove Albion, Roberto De Zerbi has indicated that he is happy about the performance of Ghana defender Tariq Lamptey.
The Italian gaffer however wants the versatile wing-back to continue working hard to ensure he improves his game.
According to the manager, players like Billy Gilmour and Tariq Lamptey are not getting a lot of playing time because Brighton & Hove Albion are not competing in a lot of competitions.
“We do not have Europa or Champions League, we have one game per week but there are many good young players. I am speaking Gilmour, [Jeremy] Sarmiento, and Lamptey. Lamptey played part of the [Man City] game very well.
“I am happy for Lamptey. I think he has to improve to play with the other players because he has to have a clear pass and control. He has to work in this way,” Roberto De Zerbi said after the defeat to Manchester City over the past weekend.
Tariq Lamptey is hoping to play more games to hit top form to ensure he earns a place in the Ghana squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
