Brighton are winless in back-to-back matches under manager Roberto De Zerbi. The former Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk manager took over for Graham Potter after his departure for Chelsea.

On Friday night, Brighton will make the short trip to west London to play Brentford on matchday No. 10.

The Bees go into the weekend in dreadful form with just one win from their last six matches in the league. Thomas Franks’ team is four points above the relegation zone after nine fixtures.

Brighton are seventh in the league standings. They are just two points off fourth place and are chasing Potter’s new team, Chelsea, for the top four.

The Seagulls did the league double over Brentford last season by a combined score of 3-0. Brighton went to Brentford and left with a 1-0 win thanks to a 90th-minute goal from Leandro Trossard.

Trossard leads Brighton in goals this season with five in eight appearances. Three of Trossard’s five goals came in a three-goal performance against Liverpool at Anfield in De Zerbi’s first match in charge of Brighton.

Brighton took 10 points from 18 points on offer in the league, and they scored 12 goals and conceded eight in the last six games.

Brighton are unbeaten in three of four road games this season and most recently went to Liverpool where they drew 3-3.

Brentford took six points from the last six games in the Premier League. They were outscored 12-8 across the last six fixtures and go into the weekend winless in three straight fixtures.

The Bees have been good at home this season and are unbeaten in three of four games at home.

Brentford outscored their four opponents at home 10-6. However, Brentford’s most recent home match against Arsenal finished as a 3-0 loss.

Frank will be without at least three players on Friday night due to injury. Christian Norgaard is out with a calf injury, and Pontus Jansson has a thigh injury. Forward Keane Lewis-Potter has an ankle injury that will keep him on the sidelines.

De Zerbi will be without at least two players for the trip to Brentford. Jakub Moder is out with a knee injury, and Enock Mwepu has an abdominal injury that will keep him out of action.

Brighton did the league double over Brentford last season. The Bees are not in good form ahead of this weekend’s match with Brighton and should suffer another defeat.

The Seagulls should post the first win as Brighton manager with a 2-1 victory over Brentford.
