Striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom believes Ghana’s crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Egypt is not that much of a tough game as people perceive.
The Black Stars will host the record African Cup winners in the first leg of the epic tie on October 15 in Kumasi.
Ghana will then travel for the return encounter to be played in Cairo a month later to determine one of five African representatives for next year’s World Cup in Brazil.
Ghana FA officials and several Ghanaians have admitted to the difficult task ahead in beating the almighty Pharaohs over two legs to make a third successive World Cup finals.
But striker Boakye-Yiadom who stands a chance in playing for the Black Stars against Egypt next month believes Ghanaians are being overly concerned about the ties considering the immense qualities of the Black Stars team.
“I don’t think this match is as difficult as people are making it seem,†he told Asempa FM.
“With the players we have currently, if everyone will play with total commitment, I don’t think Egypt can stand us.
“Before the last Nations Cup we played them and won quite comfortably.
“I believe we will have no serious issues beating them.â€
Ghana lost its last competitive match against Egypt in the finals of the 2010 Nations Cup in Egypt.
The Black Stars however reigned supreme in a recent meeting after posting a 3-0 win over Egypt in the build up to the 2013 Nations Cup in South Africa.
