Black Stars won't face Malawi under floodlights

Ghana won’t play their matches under floodlights in the foreseeable future because of a recent embarrassment.

The match between the Black Stars and Lesotho was delayed for over 45 minutes because of the failure of the floodlights in Kumasi.

Few weeks later a testimonial game for legendary coach Jones Attuaquayefio was also disrupted for a similar reason.

Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi says they want to avoid the embarrassment.

“We have learnt a few lessons so in our next games we won’t play under floodlights,” says Nyantakyi.

“We will play under the sunshine to avoid any issues.”

Ghana will play Malawi in Accra next month a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
