Black Stars forward Felix Afena-Gyan extends contract with AS Roma

Ghanaian forward Felix Afena-Gyan has extended his stay at Roma by signing a new long-term contract.

Afena-Gyan signed a four-year extension that will enable him stay with the Italian club till June 30, 2026.

The 19-year-old striker made 22 appearances for AS Roma, scoring two goals last season.

The youngster joined the club’s youth team in January 2021 and quickly progressed from the Under-18s to the Primavera side before being called up to Jose Mourinho’s first team squad at the start of the 2021-22 season.

After making his first debut for Roma senior side against Cagliari in October 2021, he subsequently scored two late goals as a substitute against Genoa.

He made his maiden appearance for the Black Stars during the World Cup play-off game against Nigeria in March and helped Ghana secure a fourth qualification for the global showpiece.
