CEO of King Fiasal Vincent Sowah-Odotei says the massive changes made to the backroom staff of the Black Stars will prove costly in future.
Several members of the technical team of the Black Stars have been replaced following the appointment of James Akwasi Appiah as the substantive coach last month.
Paramount of the changes made aside the appointment of Maxwell Konadu as the assistant coach includes goalkeeper’s trainer Eddie Ansah, long-serving team manager Opoku Afriyie, team doctor; Percy Annan and masseur Charles Botchway.
But Sowah reckons the massive overhaul constitutes laying the foundation for a steep decline in the fortunes of the team.
“I believe it is always good to make such changes to freshen things up a bit but you don’t make changes to such a degree. It is a recipe for failure,†he told Gold Sports.
“In order to make such changes effective you need to keep some members of the old staff there to help the new coach ease into the new environment.
“But you bring in together with a whole new look so who helps who to adjust?â€
The new look Black Stars backroom staff will converge in June for their first assignment, the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia.
