The Black Starlets of Ghana will renew hostilities with Ivory Coast this evening when the two sides clash in the final of the 2025 WAFU Zone B U-17 Boys Championship at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro.
Ghana arrive at the decider in high spirits after a commanding 2-0 victory over Nigeria in the semi-final, courtesy of first-half strikes from Michael Awuli and Robinho Yao Gavi.
The triumph not only booked their place in the final but also reignited hopes of securing continental qualification.
Hosts Ivory Coast sealed their ticket to the grand finale by edging Burkina Faso 2-1, and they will be banking on home advantage as well as their earlier 3-0 group-stage win over Ghana.
The Starlets, however, have grown stronger as the tournament has progressed, bouncing back from that heavy loss to dismantle Niger 3-1 before sweeping aside Nigeria.
The final, with Togolese referee Kossi Fabrice Senyo in charge, sets the stage for a thrilling showdown between two of West Africa’s brightest youth sides.
