Ghana’s Black Queens led 3-1 against Côte d’Ivoire in an international friendly but surrendered their advantage to draw 3-3.
Sherifatu Sumaila and Chantelle Hlorgah scored for Ghana, and an own goal extended their lead.
However, the Ivorians mounted a late comeback, scoring twice in the second half to secure a draw.
The friendly match is part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Black Queens begin their campaign on July 7 against defending champions South Africa, followed by matches against Mali and Tanzania.
The friendly games will test Ghana’s readiness for the continental tournament.
Despite the draw, the match provided valuable experience for the team ahead of the WAFCON.
Ghana will look to build on this experience and come out strong in their upcoming tournament matches.
