Ghana’s senior women’s national team, the Black Queens, have dropped in both global and African rankings, according to FIFA’s latest update released on Thursday, June 12.
Under head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, the team has fallen from 65th to 66th in the world, and from fifth to sixth in Africa.
In their last four matches, the Queens recorded just one win; a friendly against Senegal alongside two losses and a draw.
With the postponed 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations approaching, the team faces a crucial task of bouncing back and climbing the rankings.
