Black Queens slip in FIFA Rankings amidst poor form

The Black Queens have dropped one place in the latest FIFA Women’s Rankings, from 65th to 66th globally.

In Africa, they occupy the 6th position.

This ranking comes after a recent pair of games against Ivory Coast, where they drew 3-3 but lost 1-0 in the second match.

These friendlies were part of their preparations for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which takes place in July.

The Black Queens have struggled to find form under coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, who took over in February, managing only one win in their last five games.

Their sole victory during this period was a 1-0 win over Senegal. As they gear up for the WAFCON tournament, Ghana will be looking to regroup and improve their performance.

In the upcoming WAFCON, the Black Queens are pitted in Group C alongside defending champions South Africa, Tanzania, and Mali. With their current form, the team will need to work hard to make a strong impression in the tournament and climb up the rankings.
