Ghana’s Black Queens have been handed a demanding Group D assignment for the group phase of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted by Morocco.
Kim Lars Björkegren’s team will face familiar opposition in Cameroon, Cape Verde and Mali as they plot a deep run at the continental showpiece.
The draw marks Ghana’s second successive appearance at the tournament, following their return to WAFCON action after missing out since 2018.
The competition will run from March 17 to April 3, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.
Ghana will be aiming not only to progress from the group but also to chase a return to the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time in 19 years.
Reaching the semifinals would be enough to secure a coveted World Cup berth.
