The Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will start on July 5 in Morocco with a number of exciting games lined up.
Before the tournament begins, Ghana’s Black Queens are set to take on arch rivals Nigeria in a high profile friendly game in Morocco as part of preparations for the tournament.
The Black Queens have been without blemish in their two previous friendly games, winning both games – 3-1 against Malawi and 4-2 against Benin.
The Black Queens have been sharp in front of goal, scoring seven goals but have let in three in that time.
The match against Nigeria on June 29 provides Kim Lars Bjorkegren’s side with the right test before the tournament, with the coach admitting it would be a tough encounter.
Ghana are in Group C of the WAFCON, where they’ll face defending champions South Africa, Mali and Tanzania.
The Black Queens, who last participated in the WAFCON in 2018, have never won the trophy and will be hoping to do so for the first time in Morocco’s showpiece.
