The Black Queens have safely arrived in Ghana after being stranded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to escalating Middle East tensions.
The team, which had been participating in the Pink Ladies Cup tournament, was forced to wait out the crisis in Dubai.
Ghana’s Foreign Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, confirmed the team’s safety and thanked the diplomatic mission in the UAE for their support.
The team’s arrival marks the end of a tense period, with reports indicating that parts of Dubai came under Iranian missile attacks, affecting hotels and airport sections.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and government officials had worked together to ensure the team’s safe return.
The Black Queens’ next steps are unclear, but they had been preparing for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers.
