The Black Queens have returned to Accra brimming with confidence after a commanding 3–0 triumph over Egypt in the first leg of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers in Ismailia.
The team arrived at the Kotoka International Airport on Friday afternoon to a warm reception, as preparations now shift toward the crucial return leg scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ghana’s victory in Egypt was inspired by a well-rounded performance, with Doris Boaduwaa, Mary Amponsah, and Grace Asantewaa all finding the net to hand the Queens a solid first-leg advantage.
With qualification now within reach, the team will resume training on Saturday, determined to finish the job on home soil and advance to the next round.
