Head coach of the Black Queens, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, has pledged to enhance the team’s performance following two international friendlies against Senegal’s Teranga Lionesses.
Ghana edged the first encounter 1-0 but suffered a 1-0 defeat in the second match at the Stade Lat-Dior.
Speaking after the second game, Coach Bjorkegren admitted that while the team showed promise, there is still significant room for improvement.
“I think we can play better football. That’s the part I’m going to take with me. We are also in the process that we have started to building with the defense. Now we are starting to build the midfield and how we can connect to the attacking part. In these two games, we couldn’t do that.
“So I think that will be my job in the next camp, to connect all the pieces. If we do that, we will be a much better team. But I think the performances could be better, even if we won the first one,” he said.
Coach Bjorkegren remains optimistic that with continued work on cohesion across all departments, the Black Queens will become a more formidable side.
