Black Princesses winger Ivy Osei Owusu says the team is fully committed to qualifying for next year’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup after their first-leg win over Tunisia.
The teenager featured as Ghana defeated Tunisia 2-0 away from home in the second-round qualifiers last weekend, giving Yussif Basigi’s side a strong advantage ahead of the return leg in Accra.
Speaking to Sporty FM, Osei Owusu urged fans not to assume the job is done, stressing the need for continued hard work and improvement.
“We have been training, and we are really preparing. We have won, but that doesn’t mean we have to relax. We are just working hard so that we take a win in the second leg too,” she said.
“There is more room for improvement, so we are preparing so that we can win every game so that we can qualify for the World Cup.”
The decisive second leg will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 28, with kickoff at 3:00 pm.
