Black Galaxies head coach Kassim Mingle Ocansey has commended his players despite their 1-0 defeat to South Africa in an international friendly at the Dobsonville Stadium.
The coach described the encounter as a valuable learning experience for a team still in its formative stage.
“Because the league is ongoing, we didn’t have much time to prepare, but the work was intensive. This game was an eye-opener, and I believe we are building a strong CHAN team.
“The players performed very well against a tough opponent, and we have a bright future ahead,” Ocansey said.
He highlighted the discipline and effort shown by his side, noting that the team had just three weeks to prepare for the fixture. “It’s a very good performance from our boys. We have only three weeks to come here, and they put up a very good performance,” he told SABC Sport.
Ocansey added that the squad showed encouraging signs despite being a young and newly assembled team.
The Black Galaxies will now shift focus to preparations for the 2026 CHAN qualifiers, with technical staff optimistic about steady improvement.
