Ghana’s national eFootball team, the Black Asteroids, have officially signed the participation agreement for the FIFAe Nations Cup 2025 World Cup Qualifiers, which kick off in September 2025.

The move marks another major step in the country’s rise in global digital football.

The team will compete in two qualifying competitions organized by FIFAe, eFootball Console and eFootball Mobile in a bid to secure a place at the FIFAe World Cup in December 2025.

The signing ceremony took place at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) headquarters in Accra, underscoring Ghana’s growing commitment to the international FIFAe circuit.

The finals are scheduled to be staged in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the Black Asteroids are aiming to represent the nation with pride and purpose.

“This is a monumental step in Ghana’s eFootball roadmap. The Black Asteroids continue to be an inspiration to our youth, and we are confident they will represent the nation with pride,” said Prosper Harrison Addo (Esq.), who is the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association.

“The Black Asteroids continue to be a symbol of innovation and youth empowerment through digital sport. Signing the agreement is not just an administrative milestone…it is a call to action for the team and for all Ghanaians to rally behind our digital ambassadors on the global stage,” he added.

Ghana’s eFootball Manager, Emmanuel Lawson, is optimistic about their chances: “We’ve been working hard as a unit, improving our synergy and strategy. Qualifying for the FIFAe World Cup is our goal, and we’re going to give it everything to make Ghana proud.”
