Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has expressed strong belief in his team’s readiness as Ghana prepares for the 2025 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
With the tournament just weeks away, Björkegren says the team’s preparations are on track, and he is optimistic about Ghana’s chances in the continental showpiece.
“I’m sure we will be ready in Morocco in the summer,” the Swedish tactician stated, underscoring his trust in the players and technical staff.
While fine-tuning the team’s attack remains a top priority, Björkegren emphasized that the bigger picture is taking shape. The upcoming training camp will focus on improving connections in the final third, particularly between the wingers and the central striker, but the coach believes the team has made significant strides overall.
“We need to get closer to the final pieces… That’s necessary, of course, to win games,” he said.
The Black Queens will be aiming to make a strong impact at WAFCON 2025, set to run from July 5 to 26, with hopes of reclaiming their place among Africa’s elite women’s football nations.
