Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has placed a hefty £30 million valuation on Ghanaian winger Kwame Poku, with Birmingham City reportedly leading the race for his signature.
Poku, 23, is out of contract this summer, but Peterborough are still entitled to a substantial compensation fee due to his age.
Despite attempts to tie him down with a club-record offer, the League One side now appear resigned to losing their star man.
Speaking on his Hard Truth podcast, MacAnthony, revealed the club expects a “multi-million” tribunal fee.
“There are many things a tribunal takes into account when setting a transfer fee,” MacAnthony said.
“The offers we have already had are part of that—as are his appearances, his goals, the contract offer we have made him, and what we have paid in transfer fees ourselves, so we will still get millions and millions for him.”
Signed from Colchester United in 2021 for a deal rising to £750,000, Poku has developed into one of League One’s standout talents.
He racked up 12 goals and 11 assists this term, earning a place in the League One Team of the Season.
