Alianza Lima to secure narrow win at Deportivo Binacional

914

There is further action from the Peruvian top flight on Sunday afternoon and features this upcoming clash between Deportivo Binacional and Alianza Lima in the Primera Division as the battle for top spot intensifies at the Estadio Guillermo Briceño Rosamedina.

With just three games remaining of the Apertura phase of the Peruvian top flight season, 8th placed Deportivo Binacional, find themselves nine points behind the league leaders, Melgar, but barring a miracle (and Melgar losing their last three games on the trot), Nacional are unlikely to attain their place at the summit of the division.

Recent results also seem to suggest that this will not be the case as Dep. Binacional have collected just two wins out of their last seven matches overall, which came in the form of victories over Carlos Mannucci and Sport Huancayo, but also includes four defeats as well.

Home form though has been fairly encouraging for the hosts as they have lost just two out of their last nine games and they will take heart from this fairly solid sequence of results when they prepare for the visit of Alianza Lima.

Onto the visitors then, and Alianza Lima currently sit in 3rd spot and are five points behind the league leaders, Melgar, but one slip up from them and Alianza Lima will be quick to take advantage especially as the visitors have won eight out of their last nine matches overall in the Primera Division.

Within this impressive sequence of league wins, Alianza Lima have also registered four wins from their last five outings on the road as they have collected victories away at Universitario 4-1, Academia Cantalao 2-1, Universidad San Martin 1-0 and a 3-0 romp at Deportivo Municipal.

Although they lost 2-0 away at Sport Huancayo last time out on their travels, this was against 2nd placed opponents, so they will be seeking a swift return to winning ways this Sunday at the Estadio Guillermo Briceño Rosamedina.

The bigger picture also looks an encouraging one for Alianza Lima in terms of results away from home as the away side have lost just three of their last 20 matches on the road, picking up 11 wins and keeping no fewer than 12 clean sheets in the process.

Alianza Lima therefore get the nod for the three points in this clash.
