Bibiani Goldstars tactician Frimpong Manso has explained why his outfit suffered a defeat to Accra Lions in matchday 26 of the Ghana Premier League.

The miners suffered their first defeat in six games in the Ghanaian top-flight on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Goals from Mohammed Yahaya and Daniel Awuni ensured Accra Lions secured maximum points over their opponent in the crucial encounter.

Explain why his side suffered defeat, Manso said, “It was a very difficult game. What we needed to do to survive in this game was to prevent them from starting from the back, which means we needed to press them but it was difficult. Within one week, we’ve travelled to Accra on two occasions before playing on Wednesday. So to press with such conditions was difficult for us”

“You could see they were comfortable because they can pass and build and to prevent them, you needed to press them to force them to kick long balls and we were finding it difficult to do that because of our physical condition so that was what affected us in the game” he said.

Bibiani Goldstars are 10th on the Ghana Premier League table with 35 points from 26 games so far this season.

The miners will host Aduana Stars in matchday 27 of the Ghanaian top-flight on Sunday afternoon.
