Chief Executive Officer of Bibiani Gold Stars, Kwasi Adu, has endorsed the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) proposal to increase the presidential term limit from two to three terms.
The proposal comes after the GFA confirmed last week that FIFA had granted approval to amend its statutes in line with existing practices at both FIFA and CAF.
If passed, the change would allow current GFA President Kurt Okraku, who now in his second term, to contest for a third term, extending his tenure beyond the current eight-year limit.
Speaking on Sporty FM, Kwasi Adu described the move as forward-thinking rather than restrictive.
“The proposal to extend the term limit of the GFA president to three is a step in the right direction, not an imposition,” he said.
The proposal will be presented to delegates at the GFA Congress on August 12, 2025, where members will vote on whether to approve the amendment.
