Alex Aso and Prince Owusu Kwabena scored in either half as Bibiani Gold Stars recorded an impressive 3-0 win over FC Samartex 1996 at DUN’S Park to end a 10-game winless run.

The Miners were in 17th place before kick off after going 10-games without a win in the Premier League.

New coach Frimpong Manso who took over from Michael Osei is on a rescue mission to take the club from the relegation zone.

Alex Aso hit the back of the net in the 17th minute to give Gold Stars a well deserved lead after he beautifully connected from the edge of the box.

Aso grabbed his brace in the 67th minute before Prince Owusu Kwabena wrapped things up with a fine finish in the 79th minute.

The result brings to an end a five-game unbeaten run for FC Samartex who went into the game – in second place -one point behind leaders Aduana FC.

At the Theatre of Dreams at Dawu, Legon Cities pip Bofoakwa Tano. Suraj Yussif Kamal scored the winning goal in the 31st minute mark to give the Royals a 1-0 win.

Meanwhile  Berekum Chelsea recorded yet another win on the road as they pip Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium courtesy a 58th minute strike from Kofi Ansu Patrick. The former chanpions who have lost only once in their last four away matches are third in the League standings with 26 points.

Finally on Sunday, Accra Great Olympics played out a goalless draw with Asante Kotoko to end the latter’s four-game winning streak.

Despite having decent chances, neither team could find the back of the net in a thrilling encounter.

Kototo went into the game looking for their fifth win on the spin following victories over Medeama SC, Legon Cities, Berekum Chelsea and arch rivals Hearts of Oak.

The draw leaves Asante Kototo in 7th place with 23 points – four points behind leaders Aduana FC.

Accra Great Olympics are unbeaten in their last four games, ahead of the Ga Mashie derby against Hearts of Oak.
