Amidou Diarra scored an injury time goal to salvage a point for Nations FC against Asante Kotoko in their 2-2 draw in the Betpawa Premier League’s Ashanti derby.
Despite the chances created, no goal was scored in the first half as all four was netted in the second.
It was the home side who took the lead in the 50th minute through Diarra with a powerful header.
Kalo Ouattara pounced on a rebound to restore parity in the 87th minute and continue his fine form of scoring in three successive games.
Michael Kyei’s one-time strike in the 91st minute appeared to be the winner for Kotoko but Diarra left the Porcupines crestfallen after converting a penalty in the dying embers of the match following a handball incident by Benyin Amoah.
Nations FC will take on Medeama SC in an outstanding match week three fixture at the Tarkwa Akoon Park while Asante Kotoko will be up against Bechem United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
