Accra Lions emerged victorious against Kpando Heart of Lions, ending their unbeaten run in the 2023/2024 Ghana Premier League campaign in a thrilling encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium,
The Volta Region-based outfit had enjoyed an impressive six-match unbeaten streak but was brought to a halt with a 2-1 loss to Accra Lions.
The match was a goal-packed clash, with Accra Lions making their mark early on.
Ali Mohammed opened the scoring in the 12th minute, setting the tone for the home team’s dominance. Just before the first half concluded, Daniel Awuni added another goal to the tally, sending Accra Lions to the dressing room with a comfortable two-goal lead.
After the break, the visitors, Kpando Heart of Lions, threw everything they had at their opponents, desperately seeking a comeback. Their efforts paid off when Agyenim Boateng found the back of the net, reducing the deficit.
With this victory, Accra Lions climbed to the 14th position in the standings, while Heart of Lions now find themselves at the bottom of the table with just six points from seven games.
Heart of Lions host Aduana fc in their week nine fixture at the Hohoe Park while Accra Lions travel to Bibiani against Gold Stars.
