Leicester City manager Marti Cifuentes says the most important thing about Abdul Fatawu Issahaku’s match-winning strike against Charlton was not the goal itself, but the joy it brought back to the Ghanaian winger.
“It is a fantastic goal, but I am very pleased first of all to see Abdul laughing and smiling and enjoying again,” Cifuentes said after the 1-0 Championship victory at the King Power Stadium.
The 21-year-old curled home a stunning effort in the second half to seal the points for the Foxes, marking his return after months out with a serious knee injury.
Cifuentes added: “The goal he gave us is extra quality, it’s a fantastic strike.”
