On-loan Asante Kotoko forward Bernard Somuah has revealed the early struggles he faced after joining Celta Vigo, as he prepares for a second season in Spain following a loan extension.
The 19-year-old winger admitted that adjusting to European football was tough, citing differences in training, facilities, and an early injury setback.
“Everything was different… I wasn’t getting playing time, and I got injured too,” he said. “But I worked hard and improved, which made my coach happy.”
Somuah impressed with Celta B in the 2024/25 season, making 29 appearances, scoring five goals and providing four assists.
His performances earned him another year on loan, with the Spanish side holding an option to make the deal permanent.
With Celta Vigo keen on developing young talent, the 2025/26 campaign could be a defining season for the Ghanaian youngster as he aims to break into the senior team or earn a permanent European move.
