Benjamin Asare has promised supporters of Hearts of Oak that the team will respond positively when they face Basake Holy Stars this weekend in the Ghana Premier League.
The Phobians will host the Week 24 fixture at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Hearts head into the encounter after dropping valuable points in their last two league matches.
They were first held to a stalemate by Berekum Chelsea before falling to a 2-1 defeat against Bibiani Gold Stars away from home.
Speaking ahead of the clash, the goalkeeper admitted the team understands the frustration among their followers.
“We take responsibility. The fans deserve better, and we will show it on Sunday,” he declared.
Asare believes the players must show character and deliver a performance that restores confidence among the club’s faithful.
Hearts currently occupy third place on the table with 40 points.
Leaders Medeama SC are six points ahead, keeping the title race tight.
Basake Holy Stars sit mid-table but will aim to cause problems for the hosts.
