Bench underperforming senior players – Joe Carr to coach Otto Addo

Ex-Ghana goalie Joe Carr has offered Black Stars trainer Otto Addo an advice ahead of 2022 FIFA World Cup to be staged in Qatar later.

Ghana is making her fourth appearance at the world biggest football tournament after failing to qualify for the 2018 edition in Russia.

As they seek to better their performance from the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, coach Otto Addo will be releasing a strong 26-man squad for the tournament.

Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew had earlier revealed that the “senior players” have an advantage of being included in the squad as compared to the youngsters and new additions .

Speaking in an interview with Graphic Sports Joe Carr said, “coach Otto Addo shouldn’t hesitate to bench senior players if they refused to live up to the billing.”

“You should not hesitate to bench senior players if they do not live up to his expectation. This is the only way to get players to give their best during the competition.” He stated.

Ghana has been drawn against Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay in Group H.
