Bechem United head coach Kobina Amissah has opened up on his decision to return to the club midway through the 2025–26 Ghana Premier League season, describing the Hunters as his “second home” and a place central to his coaching journey.
Speaking in an interview with Akoma 87.9 FM, Amissah revealed that his deep emotional connection to the club played a major role in his decision to take over at a challenging moment.
“Before I became well known in coaching, everything started at Bechem United,” he said. “I sometimes refer to the club as my second home. Because of the love I have for the team and seeing them struggle in the league, it felt only right for me to step in and help turn things around.”
The former Aduana Stars coach added that his return was also a way of giving back to a club that helped shape his career.
“It is my way of paying back for all the good things Bechem United has done for me,” he noted.
Amissah also outlined his objectives for the remainder of the season, with a clear focus on stabilising the team and steering them away from relegation danger.
“Our target is to finish the season in a respectable position,” he said. “Where we currently find ourselves does not reflect the status of the club. With determination from all sides, we want to preserve our place in the league and avoid relegation.”
Bechem United currently sit 9th on the Ghana Premier League table with 25 points after 20 matches. The club will be counting on Amissah’s experience and familiarity to guide them to a strong finish in the second half of the campaign.
