Bechem United edge Aduana FC to reach an historic second MTN FA Cup final

Bechem United defeated regional rivals Aduana FC 2-0 at the Golden City Park on Sunday to qualify for their second MTN FA Cup final – first since 2015/16.

Emmanuel Avornyo and Augustine Okrah scored in the first half to take a command of the game as Aduana FC struggled to turn things around.

Avornyo pummeled Kassim Mingle’s side into the lead in the 16th minute as he picked up a delightful pass from Okrah before drilling a shot into the right corner of the post to beat Aduana FC shot stopper Joseph Addo
Bechem doubled their advantage when Augustine Okrah smashed in an absolute beauty of a free-kick that was parried into the net by Joseph Addo to make it 2-0 to the Hunters.

Aduana FC improved in the second half but their efforts yielded no results as Referee Maxwell Hanson brought proceedings to an end at the Golden City Park at Berekum.

Bechem are now on course for their second MTN FA Cup ttitle following a 2-1 win over 1986 winners Okwahu United at Cape Coast Stadium in 2015/2016.

The final of the 2022 MTN FA Cup is scheduled for the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday, June 26, 2022.
