Bechem United have added experience to their technical team with the appointment of former Black Stars midfielder Mallam Yahaya as the club’s new assistant coach.
Yahaya joins the Hunters following recent technical changes and will work alongside head coach Kobina Amissah, who replaced Desmond Issah Botchway earlier this week.
The former Borussia Dortmund player brings a wealth of coaching experience, having previously managed King Faisal, Elmina Sharks, New Edubiase, Nzema Kotoko, and Bekwai Heroes, among others. His most recent role was with Techiman Liberty in the Division One League.
Bechem United confirmed the news in a statement on Facebook, writing:
“We are thrilled to announce that Mallam Yahaya, former Ghana Black Stars and Borussia Dortmund player, has officially been appointed as our Assistant Coach. Let’s give him a warm welcome and look forward to an inspiring season ahead.”
The Hunters have endured a poor start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League, sitting in the relegation zone with just six points from eight games.
Yahaya’s first test will come this weekend against Young Apostles, as Bechem United aim to revive their campaign and regain confidence among their fans.
