The Confederation of African Football has unveiled a new agreement that brings KONAMI Digital Entertainment on board as the Official Gaming Sponsor for the next two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.

The deal grants the Japanese publisher exclusive rights to feature the AFCON in its global eFootballseries, allowing supporters to enjoy a digital version of the competition.

CAF’s General Secretary, Véron Mosengo-Omba, highlighted the significance of the partnership, especially as preparations continue for the Morocco 2025 edition.

He expressed confidence in what the collaboration means for the sport’s digital future.

“The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 will be one of the most exciting and widely followed editions of our flagship competition.

“Our partnership with KONAMI reflects CAF’s commitment to innovation, global fan engagement, and creating new opportunities for African youth in both football and digital spaces.”

KONAMI’s Senior Executive Officer, Koji Kobayashi, also welcomed the announcement and emphasized how it enhances the company’s football gaming project.

“We are delighted to announce the establishment of a partnership with CAF. This partnership brings new possibilities to the gaming experience, and we are truly excited to deliver the passion of the African region to fans around the globe through eFootball,” he said.

The 2025 edition of the AFCON is scheduled to run from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
