Seasoned Ghanaian coach, Bashir Hayford has expressed his disappointment and frustration at being undervalued in his home country.
According to the experienced gaffer, other nations value and utilize their experienced coaches, whereas in Ghana, he is left to struggle without recognition despite his achievements and experience.
Speaking in an interview with Joy Sports, Hayford stated, “Other countries are making use of their experienced coaches, tapping their knowledge, experience. What I see here is they will allow you to struggle and get a job from somewhere and still watch whether you can do it or not. They don’t recognize your achievements, performance, and experience,” he said.
“The only thing is to wait. The day you die, they will write a very big and nice obituary,” he concluded.
Bashir Hayford, who is currently with Ghana Premier League side Kpando Heart of Lions, has managed almost all the clubs in Ghana, including Ghana’s Women Under-17 side, and went on to manage the Somalia national team.
