Veteran Ghanaian trainer, Bashir Hayford, has publicly declared his willingness to take on the role of coaching Ghana’s senior national football team, the Black Stars.
The Heart of Lions gaffer’s interest in the job comes at a critical time following the team’s failure to secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco for the first time in 20 years.
The disappointment has put immense pressure on Otto Addo with some Ghanaians calling his dismissal.
“What does it take to coach the Black Stars? Everything shows I can do the job,” Bashir told Asempa FM.
“So if you see competence in me, give it to me; if you don’t see any competence, don’t give it to me.”
The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association is still contemplating on the future of Otto Addo.
Hayford has guided Heart of Lions to the summit of the Ghana Premier League after week 13.
