Barcelona will go head to head with Atletico Madrid for the services of Villarreal striker Gerard Moreno.
The Catalans are in the market for a striker and have heavily been linked with a move for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski but should the deal fail to go through, they are lining up Moreno as his replacement.
Atleti on the other hand wants a player who can replace Luis Suarez who will be leaving the club in the summer and wants a proven goalscorer in Laliga to replace the Uruguayan.

SPORT reports that Villarreal are willing to negotiate and would accept around 40m euros for the player whose current deal ends in 2027 with a release clause of 100m euros; the move necessitated by the club’s urge to get funds to balance their financial books.
