Former Ghana international Baffour Gyan has disclosed that his younger brother, Asamoah Gyan, is not ready for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Gyan recently expressed his desire to make one final appearance with the national team at global showpiece which is set to start in November.
However, the 36 year old’s fitness has been a major talking point, he has been without a club since since leaving Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities.
“He knows much about football and you can’t just get out of your house to go to the field to play football. If you decide to play when you are not ready the game will teach you a lesson, for me, he is not ready and he needs to work more on himself” Baffour said when asked about Asamoah Gyan’s quest to return to the field on Wontumi FM.
Asamoah Gyan is Ghana’s all-time leading goal scorer with 51 goals in 109 appearances.
The former Black Stars captain has played in three World Cup tournaments in 2006, 2010 and 2014.
