Baba Yara stadium ready for Ghana vs Angola showdown- NSA boss

The Diretor General for the National Sports Authority, Peter Twumasi has confirmed Baba Yara Sports Stadium’s readiness to host Ghana’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Angola.

The 40,000 capacity edifice was recently closed down for renovation works to improve the quality of the pitch ahead of the mouthwatering encounter on March 23.

In an interview with Accra-based radio station Peace FM, the NSA boss disclosed the facility is in great shape for the clash next Thursday.

“Yes by the grace of God…I left the place and got to Accra yesterday. I was also there throughout last week work went on smoothly and everything is ready. What we are looking forward to is God will grant us 23rd then we kick off,”

The Black Stars will face the Palancras Negras in Kumasi as they aim to book their place at next year’s AFCON tournament.

The reverse fixture is scheduled to take place in Luanda four days later.
