The Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi won’t host the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 tournament due to its current condition, according to NSA Director General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.

The stadium is undergoing critical repairs, and its infrastructure doesn’t meet the required standards for high-profile events like the GHALCA Top Four.

“The current condition of Baba Yara Stadium does not meet the necessary requirements to host a tournament like the GHALCA Top Four,” Ankrah stated on Original FM.

“We’re focused on ensuring the stadium is safe and fully functional before it can hold any large-scale events again.”

The tournament, featuring Bibiani Gold Stars, Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, and Heart of Lions, might be hosted at an alternative venue as discussions continue.

Ankrah cited financial constraints as a major challenge, saying,

“The bottom line is money. If we had a million Ghana cedis or a million dollars today, we could get to work.”
