The Local Organising Committee of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan, has congratulated Ghana for qualifying for the tournament which will be staged later this year.
The Black Maidens booked their place in the tournament after thumping South Africa 5-1 on aggregate in the final round of qualifiers at the start of the month.
“Congratulations! We are very pleased to see your country as a participant team of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Azerbaijan 2012,†the chairman of the LOC Elkhan Mammadov said in a letter to the Ghana Football Association.
“On behalf of the Local Organising Committee, we would like to wish your team every success during the championship.
“With the participation of countries such as Ghana, together we can build great memories, strong cooperation, talent development, and a better world.â€
The tournament will be played from 22 September to 13 October.
