With only three games left in the Peruvian Primera Division’s Apertura phase, Sport Huancayo will be aiming to finish top of the table just as Ayacucho are only two above the foot of the table when the two clash at the  Estadio Ciudad de Cumaná.

It’s been a sensational season for the home side, and they remain the clear favourites to win this game here as they could potentially move to the top of the division.

Huancayo remain only one point behind Melgar at the top of the tree, as they have managed to lose one game less, but also draw two games more.

At the same time, they are also the highest scorers in the Apertura phase, with an incredible 29 goals scored from only the 15 games they have played in the division.

Moreover, with 15 goals let in, they remain on track to register the best goals difference record in the Peruvian Primera Division, and in truth, it would be brutal if they could not seal the deal and win the Apertura phase.

Huancayo are also on a two-game winning run as of now, following on from drawing with Cienciano and Binacional.

Alianza Atletico and Alianza Lima were the losers in their recent games, as Atletico fell to a 4-1 defeat, just as Lima were comfortably beaten 2-0. What’s even more impressive for Javier Acre’s men is how they saw five different goalscorers across these six goals in the past two games.

As for Ayacucho, they remain in complete disarray. It was also the final group game of the Copa Sudamericana last time out, to which the club lost again to end up finishing third in Group D.

The Peru side lost to Sao Paulo 1-0 this week, which does now mean they’ve ended up with just one win from six games, and lost four times with eight goals conceded from only six group games.

Back in the league, however, things are not exactly much better. Los Gasíferos have won just three games all campaign long, and with their 10 defeats from 15 games, only Cantolao at the bottom of the table have a worse record across the board, with Ayacucho sitting on 11 points.

It should be another routine victory for Huancayo, as they work their way towards the title in Peru. Ayacucho, however, can’t seem to buy a win right now, and Forebet predicts a victory for the home side here and one that will see under 2.5 goals.
