Former Ghana U-17 star Awudu Issaka has shared a deeply personal account of how a period of imprisonment in Malaysia became the turning point in his spiritual journey.
Despite being raised in a Muslim household, Issaka began joining Christian inmates for prayer during his detention.
What started as mere participation soon led to what he described as powerful spiritual encounters.
Speaking to Sporty FM, Issaka, who once hailed as the “Disco Dancer” of Ghana’s 1995 FIFA U-17 World Cup-winning team, revealed that he encountered Jesus Christ while serving time in a foreign jail.
“Whenever I closed my eyes and prayed with them, I saw the sky open up with Jesus and his angels,” he said.
“I couldn’t see him clearly because of the angels surrounding him, so I asked him to reveal himself to me face-to-face.”
“What I went through in prison turned out to be a blessing in disguise,” he said.
