Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi delivered a standout performance as St Gallen held FC Basel to a 0-0 draw in the Swiss Super League on Sunday.
The Black Stars shot-stopper was unbeatable at St. Jakob-Park, producing six key saves, including a brilliant stop to deny Xherdan Shaqiri from the penalty spot in the 52nd minute. His heroics earned him the highest match rating (9.1).
Ati-Zigi has now made 13 league appearances this season, conceding 16 goals and keeping five clean sheets, maintaining his status as one of the league’s most reliable goalkeepers.
Having recently lost his Black Stars starting position to Hearts of Oak captain Benjamin Asare, the 29-year-old is determined to fight his way back into Ghana’s No. 1 spot. With the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on the horizon, Ati-Zigi’s red-hot form comes at the perfect time.
